Our Commitments
Inclusion across the lifespan
The Orchid Foundation works to advance the inclusion, wellbeing and participation of people with neurodevelopmental disabilities across the lifespan. Our work focuses on addressing barriers within education, health and everyday community life, while strengthening public understanding and advocating for meaningful change.
We believe education should be meaningful, appropriate and relevant to the life of each learner.
Advocating for the effective implementation of inclusive education policies and greater accountability for ensuring that learners with neurodevelopmental disabilities can meaningfully access and participate in formal education.
Promoting individualised learning pathways for children and adolescents for whom conventional classroom-based education may not be appropriate or accessible. Learning is informed by assessment and centred on functional, adaptive and contextually relevant skills that matter to the learner and their family.
